We (Almond Enterprises Ltd) are a Social Enterprise company who deliver Environmental and Cleaning Services

Although we aim to be a profitable and sustainable business, we differ from most companies by donating all our surplus profits to charities, voluntary groups and local community organisations.  Last year over 23 local organisations benefitted from the work we do

We also operate other initiatives such as our employability and recycling programmes, and run an Outreach Service which assists families and individuals within the West Lothian area who are affected by substance misuse and/or mental health issues.  

We do this in order to fulfil our social and environmental aims which are more important to us than maximising profits for shareholders or owners!

Our social and environmental aims are the reason that we exist.

Formed in 2005 as a subsidiary of Almond Housing Association who are a registered charity, we were set up for the purpose of meeting the Associations “wider role” objectives.  

The Scottish Governments “wider role” initiative supports Housing Associations to undertake projects in their communities that go beyond their principle roles as landlords.  Some of the key areas we exist to address are –

• Poverty, community decline and worklessness.
• Making early interventions for vulnerable individuals, families and disadvantaged communities.
• Improving employability as a means to tackling poverty.
• Supporting the economy, community and environment.

Almond Enterprises’ aim is to “develop and run a successful social enterprise business that contributes to the local economy, community and environment”.

Simply by using the services of Almond Enterprises businesses can contribute to the local community and enhance their organisations “ethical philosophy and corporate integrity” all at no extra cost!

We also believe that our service is second to none and as we are not profit driven we are rarely beaten on price by our competitors.
